Polypodiopsida, a member of a group of vascular plants that reproduce via spores and have neither seeds nor flowers. Represented on Crete by 17 families Adiantaceae, Aspleniaceae, Athyriaceae, Blechaceae, Cystopteridaceae, Dennstaedtacacae, Dryopteridaceae, Equisetaceae, Isoetaceae, Ophioglooaceae, Osmundaceae, Polypodiaceae, Pteridaceae, Selaginellaceae and Thelypteridaceae. 41 species in 22 Genera (only 1 is endemic)
